A little bit about me

I’m a designer who likes solving problems, with over 10 years experience in graphic design, responsive web design, design for mobile, e-commerce, digital marketing, UX, branding and digital illustration.

After starting my working career training to be a dispensing optician, I got bored. Looking at eyes wasn’t going to cut it, but using them was. So I left my job and went back to studying (even though my mum didn’t think it was the best idea). 4 long years went by and after many all-nighters, many paper cuts and one or two beers, I qualified with a 2:1 BA (hons) in Graphic Design from Cumbria Institute of the Arts. My mum was pleased! Then the working world loomed and in the middle of a recession too. Luckily, some kind souls took pity on me as a newly qualified designer and helped me out with a few placements. Thanks to One O’Clock Gun, Graphical House and Whitespace.

Since then, I have been freelancing at lots of design agencies in Edinburgh including The Lane Agency, Create FutureLewisTayburnRealise and Digital Six. I’ve also worked in-house with some companies, like Skyscanner and Baillie Gifford. But most of my time was spent at Whitespace. It was here I honed my skills as a designer and learnt loads (thanks whitespacers!).

Currently I’m working remotely for agencies back home and for my own clients, travelling around Europe. If you want to know any more or to discuss a project, say hi!
