I’m a designer who loves solving problems, with over 15 years experience in UX/UI, digital design, graphic design, responsive web design, e-commerce, branding and digital illustration.
After starting my career training to be a dispensing optician, I realised looking at eyes all day really wasn’t my thing. So I quit my job and went to university to study graphic design, much to my mum’s dismay. 4 years went by and after many late nights, many paper cuts and one or two beers, I qualified with a 2:1 BA (hons) in Graphic Design from Cumbria Institute of the Arts. My mum was pleased! Then the working world loomed and in the middle of a recession too. Luckily, some kind souls took pity on me as a newly qualified designer and helped me out with a few placements. Thanks to One O’Clock Gun, Graphical House and Whitespace.
Since then, I have been freelancing at lots of design agencies in Edinburgh including The Lane Agency, Leith, Create Future, Lewis, Tayburn, Realise and Digital Six. I’ve also worked in-house with some companies, like Skyscanner and Baillie Gifford. But most of my time was spent at Whitespace. It was here I honed my skills as a designer and learnt loads (thanks whitespacers!).
Originally from Bonnie Scotland, currently I’m based in Valencia, Spain. I work remotely with agencies in the UK and Spain and with my own clients. If you want to know any more or would like to discuss a project, say hi!
